    Must have sunk in the mud as I would think it would have been picked up by someone at the time it was dropped.

    Great find! As far as mud sunk, I don't think those wood grips would look so good. If indeed they are originals. They look a little out of place. Still, super!

    Either the gun was stripped and dumped, or it was stripped after finding which would be a shame. It also looks like it isn't ground dug but more, left in a barn or under floor boards due to the condition.
