Digging campaign in Normandy?

My family was in the Heer, and I've gotten pictures of them over the years. The fascination of seeing their uniforms, and owning a piece, or maybe rebuilding their entire uniform in war time, always intrigued me. If you relate to something, then it'll most likely make you more happy than collecting anything else... Or that was the case for me.
