Hi Seb and thanks for your reply. I know that air and humidity is causing corrosion on metal items but i thought that water does the same. All those metal canisters and helmets shouldn't rust under water?
When will you post more pictures? Were in there any other stuff besides helmets and canisters?

For the pics,the guy is apparently gone to dig,and he's also apparently "drowned" by the number of PM on the french forum.
Some want to ripp his head off,cause they say these helmets need to be in a museum,and not traded as vulgar things..
But i will post new pics as soon as he will post them in France...

There is nothing wrong to sell something you have found. And it's better to dig them out and sell them than let them corrode in a hole.

I think so too. If they are legally his finds, he can sell them, loan/donate
one or two to museums, or whatever he pleases. I'd love to see
some more photos of these lids.................!

OMFG!! Awesome finds! I agree that these items are lucky to be rescued from the ground and it's a case of 'finders keepers'. Good luck to the digger!

I wouldn't worry too much about your English language, certainly your written English is good, and if your spoken English is anything like my brother-in-laws, (yes, he's French!), your spoken English will be nearly as good!
