I am looking for my first Metal Detector & have read lots of very good reviews on the model.
I will be using it on disused airbases & trench / foxhole areas.
Any views on this model? Experiences?
Cheers

I don't own a minelab musketeer, but the internetsites with reviews about it are not bad.
I own a black bull superscan, a quite low-budget detector but it works briliantly
I found several things at a large depth.
cheers,
Thanks mate. I like the look of this Minelab model so will be looking around for the best price, unless someone tells me otherwise

Hi there Dan, Minelab are a great brand. Both myself and a mate bought a couple of detectors afew years ago, I went for a Laser (forget the model) and my mate opted for cheapest model made by Minelab at that time (1995 ish). His was the better detector by a mile - I gave up detecting and sold the Laser!.
All Best, TR
Thanks TR.
I think the choice has been made Minelab it is
hi dan i own a minelab musketeer and regularly use it on old ranges for war relic hunting .. i use it with a striat shaft conversion and either an 8" coil or a 10" coil
if you can get one without the rechargable battery pack and use it with duracells or equiv. there are a couple of coils available as other alterantives which were for the old minelab tribune namely the coinsearch coil and the treasure search coil .. these will also fit the musketeer..
i search in all metal mode for maximnum depth with this detector..
overall its a nice easy detector to learn ..
good luck and happy hunting ..
darrel the metal detector - cornwall
Darrel, that is great information! I will take note of it. It has a 10" coil & its an old army base so will let you know results!
Cheers
Dan
