I enjoyed reading all your linked threads. Very interesting stuff. You have made some great finds.
The deathshead insignia you discovered is not actually SS, but is an Army (Heer) Panzer collar tab insignia. A very nice find.

I enjoyed this thread very much, and it's obvious I'm not alone in thanking you!
However, it must be pointed out to everyone that it is in fact ILLEGAL to go relic-hunting in the Huertgen Forest. There are signs prohibiting metal-detectors posted pretty much all over the place, from the trails to the parking lots at the edge of the forest and on the path to the German cemetery as well. Good thing you didn't get caught...we would've been deprived of your awesome post!
