Hi all
I have received a few items from friends that I'd thought I'd share with you. Some of these have come from a person with no interest in WW2 or anything military, but spends most days out metal detecting. He sends me anything he finds of a military natureOther finds have come from the guy who 'runs' the British army dump site the RRPG visit on a regular basis.
Group shot.
Close up of the submarine. Made from lead, I have been told these were made from the ballast of ships and sold for a penny to raise money for the war effort. Anyone confirm ?
Very nice little medal type item, dated 1905 and made from copper, (and thence into brass), from Nelson's ships according to the inscription.![]()
A very strange bolt. Initially I thought it was a standard LE bolt, but the little catch behind the lever says something different. P17 perhaps ?
A German wound badge, ground dug in Poland. Very nice
Lastly, this little devil. Came out of the British army dump and the message is clear, but I am not sure if this was mounted on the ammo box, belt or the gun itself !
Cheers
Steve T
