Hi,
Just look at this for a good bit of restoration. The red paint is red oxide to stop the rust coming back. when its dry i will repaint it black.
Hope you like it!!!

Looking good mate!
Should be good for a few more decades now!
Hi,
Had a little dig round yesterday in the frozen ground. A couple of "just dug" shots for you.
The throat mic is a T-30s
That dog-tag is really stuck on that bit of steel but hopefully i will get it off ok.

Well that went better than expected!!!
They have come out great! I think a dog tag is one of the best possible finds.
Cheers, Ade.

A bit of a tip if anyone finds a dog-tag in bad condition is not to scrub it to death. Just give it a bit of heat over a gas hob then dunk it in water this will take off any rusty crap thats attached itself then give it a bit of a rub. If you need to do it again and again. This tag only took 10mis to clean up and it looks great. Get the tag as hot as you can without letting it glow red hot. This tip normally works for me.

more unclean stuff from yesterday.
Any idear what the big round nut type thing is??? Or that glass oval tube?
The canteen handles are nice its just a shame the cantees had gone to far to bring home. The mess tin was really past its best but i just couldnt bring myself to chuck it back in the pit.
Superb finds again Andy I love both of them. The markings on the T30s are as clear as a bell and the dogtag just awesome.
I am still waiting on finding my first American dogtag. Such a shame as well as I have photos of virtually everyone who was stationed at 'my' airbase !!
