Thanks for that Paul i nearly didnt bring it home. Just had a quick poke around in the snow and found this one i found ages ago.
Any idears on this tube? Iv found 2 of these on 2 different air fields. .50 for size.
My digging buddy seems to think they might be ordnance related?? Whatever it is its well made.

Good selection, the black tube is a push rod cover from the front of a radial engine cylinder (you just can't see them on Paul's photo!). The bakelite electrical plugs are sockets for heated flying suits.

Thanks for that Ian i wasnt really expecting to get that rod ID. Is it the part iv'e marked in red on this picture?
My "big nut" came up really well (so glad i didnt leave it in the mud!!!
