Hi Seb, you are correct from an He111: the serial number is that of the actual aircraft. I am sure this could be researched. I don't know what the actual box is used for.

I cant find anything on that work number yet, found a few numbers close so I am sure its a valid number. got a few more places to try. Was that from a crash or found with other aircraft items? ie; old airfield? I assume there is nothing in the box?
The numbers on the lid suggest it might be a panel cover for a circuit breaker box. Just a guess.
