Article about: by AndyB To correct some statement of Reibert, i dont believe Czechoslovak legion in Italy used this type of scabbard, on all evidence there are used the ersatz scabbards pictured by Rich.A.

    Default Italian 1916-pattern fighting-knife

Here´s an Italian "Model 1916" fighting-knife, made of shortened blades of the "Vetterli 1870/87" bayonet.

This kind of trench-knive´s were used by the Italian "Arditi" and the "Free Chechoslovakian Legion" in WW I.

The Italian´s also used shortened Vetterli-blade´s with an interesting "Ersatz"-bayonet.
They captured number´s of Austrian Mannlicher-Schönauer M95 rifle´s and used such bayonets together with them.

Overall lenght of the knife: only 28 cm

    Thx.

This scabbard is not very common !

Usually this kind of fighting-knife comes with a completely different one !

Love the knife. You'd really have to stick someone to use the blood-groove. LOl

To correct some statement of Reibert, i dont believe Czechoslovak legion in Italy used this type of scabbard, on all evidence there are used the ersatz scabbards pictured by Rich.A. but with belt attachment in angle.
