Default 1888 Mk1 TypeII & MkII with Mk I Scabbard and Long Lee CLLE

    Hello again lads,
Here are two other bayonets I bought a few weeks ago to add to my 1888 Pattern collection as well as a later version Long Lee compared to my other.
    1 1888 Mk 1 Type II
    2 1888 Mk 2 with Mk1 Scabbard
not sure what CLD stands for (City Of London Volunteers?)
    Any ideas welcome

My New Long Lee which has been modified with a charger guide for loading a 5 round clip into the magazine. This later version allows me to display one of my Mk3 1888's my other can be used for the Mk 1or Mk 2
I need to get myself a Metford to display my Mk1 Type 1

    Regards

    Jim

Nice untouched Long Lee Jim. I see it has a windage adj rear sight. I like that and wish mine had an adjustable sight like that as the front sight on my MKI Long Lee Enfield is offset to the left and was made according to the pattern rifle which was offset to the left which causes it to shoot way to the right. A problem apparently that caused a lot of misses in the Boer War. I believe the sight was corrected in the later models. No fun shooting when you have to hold way to the left. Ray

    Thank's Ray,
Did you see my other one on an earlier thread?
It is on my thread "Some of my 1888 Pattern bayonets"
Have you got some photos of yours?

    Regards

Just found it. Another nice one. Wouldn't mind seeing additional close up photos of it .
I'll post mine shortly. Will probably post it in the World weapons thread above as I started posting some of my guns there already, Ray
