Similar short rifles were only small numbers compared to Infantry Long rifle Gras 1874, there is no possibility attach it on other system as it should have a barell ring mounted adapter and locking lenght of 90mm, anyway historical source dont differentiate about various modells, so You need to inform You about greece contract and the exact deliveries, same as possibility of changes to various other units like cadets etc. the serial number of rifle should be identical with serial number of bayonet. brass plate could be used for adding a name, serial number or district to sample by Gendarmery or other school units? Anyway it doesnt explain lack of press button?

Yes, I don't have exact data on deliveries yet. Yannis Milonas wrote about the distribution of various Gra modifications by military units. But he does not give exact figures.

French authors speaks about smaller Gras Kadet and school rifles in caliber 6mm Flobert, so there would be unreal that similar rifle could have heavier MRD as normal infantry. More real are some special branches of army, artillery, pioneers, gendarmery etc.

The book talks about a variety of rifles of the Gras 1874-the artillery mus****n (Mousqueton 1874 M80), which entered service in military schools (military academies). Nothing is said about school rifles.
