Trench knife marked G.P(Georges Page)on the cross guard overhaul length is 275mm blade 150mm. I have found a few of these knives on the net with different blades but this is the only one I can find with the bowed handle which has been wrapped in a coarse cotton.

Made from a cruciform bayonet or made from scratch?

I think it is part of a lebel bayonet.

    Looks deadly !

As the others have said it looks like it originally was a bayonet maybe .
Cross guard is crude and misshaped .

    Not a bad job

This is a beautifully trench dagger made from blade of french m/1886 Lebel bayonet. Quite a few versions exist of this dagger, depending of what part of blade was used. This is the preferable sturdy bottom part. Maybe the handle is slightly privatized with non standard profile and a layer of string.
I used to have a few different of this daggers in my collection - but now sold - which I regret very much

In theory, it looks lethal. Being stabbed in the kidney region with that thing, might be all she wrote. Efficient and far more sturdy than the FS (though that icon is not to be sneezed at). The 'ridges' making up the cruciform shape looks like they reinforce the blade to a degree.
