Doubble C ? proofs added on blade are little strange, should be firstly proofed on G88 rifle is possible to attach, the welding of the blade there is little strange, it could be the handle was equiped with this socket blade.Anyway similar reworks were done by larger workshop so they could have various quality, You should search the maker of english stamp? . MRD should be dividen into 2 diameters 15,5 and 17,4mm

I search similar maker's in Ian D. Skennerton & Rober Richardson book without result.
Also I try to find somene similar from US makers in two books:
Albert In. Hardin Jr.
Gary M. Cunningham
without any results. If it reproo it seems very starange to do stamp "fantasy" trade mark...

17,3 or 4 could be real for G88, the CTS that was mentioned by R.Williams is evidently there, question is of same maker as declared, anyway a crown/C proof on blade is for Solingen. Question remains the blade but who would do similar repro blade and add a unknown maker, has no real background, possible the piece was repainted in time. There are remains of green paint in front of crosspiece. maybe Graham Priest would be the source for english sockets.
