Hi guys,
Here is a bayonet i have recently purchased, it is a (i believe)shortend M1898 bayonet made by V C Schilling Suhl and numbered 6874 made in i think 1906. It has no grooves in the grips and these are original and have not been replaced. My question is this, why would this bayonet have been shortend? for more practical use in the trenches? for use as a fighting knife or possibly early Third Reich use?
Cheers Donnie.
