only the Phrobis / Buck MPBS M9 bayonet was equipped with such a pocket for storing a 9mm Beretta FS92 pistol magazine, a utility knife/pocket knife, or a multi-tool.
Lancay / Lan-Cay, Ontario, on the other hand, did not have these pouches from the factory.
Ontario also made its M9 for the civilian market, but your example seems to be a military issued MPBS M9.
You have a very nice example here, made in February 2005 in my opinion.
The number 407 could be the "rack-number" or maybe part of the serial number of the 5.56 mm. NATO caliber US Soldier's M16 assault rifle.
