Sorry I can't help with it,
I don't have a Gras bayonet in my collection.
But I do have an interest in French bayonets modified by Germany durring WW1.
Especially concerning the Commission 88 rifle, Which I have.
So I'll be standing by to see what is said about this one.

Can't help Dmir, but I doubt anyone would have made that modification recently as these bayonets are not particularly valuable. Most likely modified to fit a service rifle, but which type and exactly when?? Good luck.
The my muzzle on my 88 is just a hair over 17mm in diameter. I don't have a Gewehr 98 YET, but my Kar98 muzzle is 15mm in diameter.
I have a couple French bayonets but not a Gras and I don't have any French rifle's in my collection to check those.
What is the diameter of the ring on that bayonet Dmir?
The distance between the muzzle edge and the mortise on my 88 is approximately 15mm.
That bayonet doesn't look like there is that distance between the ring edge and the mortise slot.
I'll be following this one.

The ring diameter is 17.5 mm.
In the reference literature, I have seen similar alterations. But this is a straight cut of the ring. This seems suspicious.
My modified Gras bayonets for M1888. But they have a different rework design.
