Training bayonet of the 1860 model for cadets

Article about: Good afternoon, everyone. I ask for help in identifying the bayonet. The handle on the bayonet has been redesigned. Was such an option possible, or is it a modern alteration of the owner?

Possibly one of the cut down yataghan bayonets for Cadets, but originally would have a pressed leather grip. Someone later on has replaced the grip with wood grips, some of the Cadet ones will still have pressed leather grip plates. Without a scabbard, not a great example. Looks like the hilt has been ground down to fit a different rifle.
