Hello,
This visor is not from WWII, it's Bundeswehr....
Thanks
The sacrifice of life is a huge sacrifice, there is only one that is more terrible, the sacrifice of honor

I'm not sharp on West German kit but it appears to be 1975 made.
As stated above, a BRD-Bundeswehr Pionier-cap from X (October) 1975. Nice shape. What makes you think this could be WW II?
See here for more BW-caps: Bundeswehr peaked caps.
Moved to the appropriate forum.

Here is a nice thread showing different examples
Bundeswehr caps, cap badges and other collectables
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

My dad brought it home with him at the end of the war
End of the cold war?
My dad drove the ammunition lorries in the second world war. I always understood (from mam who is still with us) that he brought this home with him. However, if it is a 1975 model I can't for the life of me work out how he got it. Never travelled abroad again other than coach trips with my mam and she would have known if he'd got in Germany or elsewhere. He was there when Belsen was liberated and I wondered if he had picked it up there. Shall have a discussion with mam and see what she says. The plot thickens !
