    Default Sumpftarn Jacket.

I bought this one many years ago to use deer stalking. It got put away under the stairs and I just re-discovered it again today! I neglected it's existance in favour of Flecktarn as and when it became available here in the army surplus shops and never really looked back. Since I bought this jacket I have to admit never seeing another one like it. Is this a rarity nowadays?

Good morning Adrian I own the exact same Jacket that you are showing and it is posted in the BGS Sumpftarn thread. As to yours it looks to be in an unissued state and I do believe 1979 was the last year they manufactured Sumpftarn. One other thing I did notice is that yours as well as mine is missing the left sleave pocket cover Steve says they are available from a seller in Germany if you require one to complete your jacket.

    Hi Mark,
Thank you for your reply. I agree the jacket is probably unissued. The only dirt or staining on it is from me crawling through hedges etc.

Thanks Mark. One further question, on the reverse side there are two D-rings and two cammo loops, in the middle and on the right hand side. They don't appear on the left side of the jacket and there is no evidence of them ever being there. Is this correct?

Thank you both Gentlemen! So the 'vent' holes on the shoulders are actually holes for the Y straps to go through?

Adrian...correct, to keep the "Y" straps in place.... the 1955-57 Splintertarn uniform has a similiar arrangement using extensions on the shoulder straps.
    Prost ! Steve.
