UN -medal Mali ((MINUSMA)

Hello friends,

A few days ago I received quite an extensive bundle from a non-commissioned officer in the Bundeswehr (various certificates, medals, souvenirs, memorabilia of his operations, ID cards, patches, ...), who served in operations in Turkey in TRABZON, as well as at the 9th DEU Eins.Ktgt. AF TUR KAHRAMANMARAS, and was also stationed in Mali.

During his service, the soldier also received "The United Nations Medal" in his deployment in Mali.

I would like to show you this medal and the accompanying certificate today.
Sadly, the ribbon bar is missin´...


The text on the certificate reads:

In recognition of having completely met the requirements of eligibility as a Military Member of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated
Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).

The ribbon represents a UN blue backdrop, with stripes in green, yellow, red, dark blue and desert sand-colour.
The light blue, outside bands, symbolize the presence of the United Nations.
On the left, representing the host nation are the green, yellow and red colors of the flag of the country.
On the right, the sand colored band is representing the Sahel desert, while the dark blue band in the center is symbolizing the Niger River.
