What s peoples opinions?
Please if any experts are out there can you let me know because the seller wants a lot of money for these. He said 2 were from Herman Historica, the ones with names on the underside. But the Allegmaine eagle & skull looks sprayed with silver paint? Also is the eagle taken from the other one to try & hide it’s poor quality? They look old but I don’t know if old means genuine with these caps.
Hello Alexander,
Our experts are going to want a separate thread for each cap.
Good luck,
Mart
The black and the grey ss cap don't look too good. The photos are, however, not the best. Goldeband was an existing Vienna cap maker, the sweatband of this cap does not correspond to period Goldebrand caps. For information on Goldeband see here: Black Alter Art Cap
The same goes for the sweatband of the grey cap.
You will need better, more and more detailed pics for the specialists for the other caps.
If they are at very low prices then they are almost certainly fakes.
There’s a saying in this hobby: ‘If it’s too good to be true, it is’.

Welcome to the forum, and welcome to collecting.
Unfortunately, the 3 visor caps are all fakes.
I do not collect M-43 caps, but I would say that is a fake as well.

The Binner cap caught my attention. I am almost 100% sure the two SS caps were part of a exhibition of German militaria at a show in the Curragh many years ago. They were owned by an elderly gent who allowed three of us to handle and examine some of his items. Being a German cap collector I checked these two caps and several others. There was an eagle on the WSS cap then. I was interested to buy but he refused to sell. I d'ont claim to be an expert but I am collecting German headgear for 22 years, and both these caps appeared to be 100% genuine . Insignia, wool, linings peaks were all of WW2 quality materials.
The pictures here are poor and all over the place and show absolutely no detail, so I can understand the comments
I am now wondering did I miss something when I examined them. So please Guys educate me by explaining why they are fake
and what did I not pick up on. I can then apply this info to my caps
