Similar but not the case - 4 point hats or rogatywkas are part of traditional costumes in Poland as well.
The more I think of the hat - it might be a nurse of some kind.

Hi Michael, with regard to what my interests are, they are very broad. I have a large collection of WW2 uniforms and equipment from Britain, Germany, USA, Japan and I am starting to aquire some Soviet items. How about yourself?

But why would a Polish hat bear the name of a maker in Lüdenscheid which is nearer Holland than Poland........?

Hi again Douglas, Sorry for the delay in my reply, I missed your ressponse some how or other. I have some German WWII, medals, edged weapons, fags and uniforms etc but not a lot of other nationalities, more odds and ends than collections per see. I tend to go after post war as it is cheaper and safer. Do you ever get over Peterborough way? We could meet up sometime and talk militaria over a cup of tea if you are interested? We seem to have qite a bit in common. In any event, keep in touch.
