This cap is sold, but I am just curious if it is original. I was thinking about making an offer but it went fast

I agree--100% original contract cap. These are "issue" caps (vs private-purchase), and the maker identification is usually stamped on the inside of the sweatband.

Good luck to you. You have the right mindset. I recently started seriously collecting and studying caps myself. The cap in question is a good one and was being offered at a nice price. Certainly another one will come your way.
