Is this Heer Schirmmutze real or fake?
Hey there guys!
I normally only collect Third Reich medals, but a fellow collector offered me a Schirmmutze for a reasonable price. I don't know anything about Schirmmutzes so could you guys help me out? Can anyone tell me if this one is real or fake? The guy send me the following pictures:

The cap is real. Whether it started life with the alu Gehirnbremse is another issue, but the cap is a normal army Tellermuetze.

The Gehirnbremse does not fit the cap, so I wonder, but the cap, itself, is real.
-
Thank you Friedrich! What kind of eagle should be on the tellermuetze? And do you think €375,- is a good price?
-
The insignia look ok to me, and Euro 375 seems a not unreasonable price, but I live in North America and do not really know the pulse of the market in Europe.
Mint, perfect examples of these caps cost USD 25 in the year 1969, and you can see what they cost today on North American top end dealer sites.
Such a thing is not especially rare, but it is real.

Thank you for the advise Friedrich! I think I will buy it. Thanks again!!

I just emailed him that I want to buy it Thanx for all the advice
-
I too, like "FB", suspect this is an enlisted / nco's cap which has been upraded with Officers cap cords and buttons.
Cheers, Ade.
