Default Kriegsmarine Pith helmet Badge. Real or Fake

    Hi all
This is my first post, so apologies in advance if I don't get it right.
This badge came in a job lot I bought privately. I usually concentrate on British & Commonwealth militaria but other stuff often appears amongst the lots as this did.
I have done some research and the nearest I can get is Kriegsmarine Pith Helmet Badge.
Is it real first of all, and am I correct in my findings please?
    Many thanks

    Paul,

Will you share with us how you identified this as unauthentic? I am asking only so as to learn. What is incorrect about this adler and the prongs? I understand the devil is in the details.
Many thanks for any elaboration. Others, please chime in.
    Thanks!

Authentic eagles will have two, or three loops, or one long pin vertically in the middle.

There were two types of Kriegsmarine large Hoheitsadlers:
The “Grossem goldener Adler” (large gold eagle) for navy officers, and the “Grossem Silbernem Adler” (large silver eagle) for Marine-Beamte (Navy Officials).
Just as we find different variants of prongs that existed for Heer Tropenhelm shields, I would wager there were a few different prong styles for the Kriegsmarine Adlers as well, or at least more than one (perhaps different manufactures, later date, etc).
Here is an example of the Weisse Tropenhelm and silver Adler. There are three prongs, the lower prong remains beneath the red liner:

Here is a silver adler and Weissehelm from another source. Note the multiple prongs. Perhaps the single prong model had a tendency to became loose or tilted, and was later adapted to three prongs for a snug fit, just as in the Tropenhelm shields.
