Original/post war production M35(?) Sidecap?

Hello!

I'm looking for more information about this German M35(?) sidecap i bought from a reputable retailer a while back. I was recently questioned about it's originality due to it not having venting holes on the sides and a slightly different shape to "normal" ones. Is it something i should worry about or is it simply a different model than originally thought.
