I'm not sure what to make of this cap - the exterior looks good, the sweatband, however, seems to be a Soviet one. As far as I can see it is machine sewn to the cap. This could mean a professional period repair or else....
Looking forward to the specialists' opinions.
EDIT: I knew I had seen something like this here on the forum:
Soviet visor hats construction: how to recognize war time issue?
With this I am afraid at least the sweatband is post-war. Perhaps Dimas sees this - he's the specialist in this field (and others of course).

Could you please post pictures with the sweatband turned up in the area of the visor/peak?
Thanks! This is really completely machine-sewn, with a seemingly thin thread. Looks like a professional job. Did the cap come from Russia? I haven't seen anything like this before. Hopefully the advanced collectors will chime in.
No it was here in the US. Now whether it came from Russia before then is anyone's guess. Thanks for that link to the soviet hat stitching and bands, it was informative. I never paid attention to the sweatband until you brought it up really. I have been out of collecting so long I feel like I'm starting all over again. I wish I still had more of my reference material.
Thanks for the like stonemint. It was your suggestion and recommendation to add these to my reference library that made me pick them up!
Wim Saris is sorely missed. Maybe the moderators could see fit to welcome him back? His transgression seemed worst than it actually was because of language differences.
