Hi,
this is the repro SS crusher cap i got a couple of weeks ago it,s not in bad nick and is ok for a display piece. I had to put a stiffener in as that was missing and some used badges on until i get some metal ones. But on the whole ok for what i gave for it.

Hi Dave, for what it is, it is OK. I think the cloth insignia actually works well and these can be seen in period photos.

I think you are right about the cloth insignia i have seen pics of them on caps in the field, I had a rumage and found this old pair
so put them on. they are ok as they are already worn and not bright, It makes a good gap filler.

i've noticed that repro items can be really expensive not compared to price of an original but still a strain on my billfold, where did you get this cusher, i would like to have one for my display?

Hi,
I got this cap from a shop in a town near to were i live, the guy sells surplus military stuff, i noticed the cap on a shelf and asked if he woul do a deal with it. i like to swop stuff that is surplus to me i think we all have a swop box, so i got it that way. but there are
reenactment stores that do them ie, Soldier of fortune sell them
also you can find th on ebay. But i have looked at a retailer
Micheal Janke,s, in germany he makes the best ones i think.
As they are made identicle to the originals,.
