Dear members, this item sold at auction in just September & is for sale again now. Can anyone see anything wrong with it? I do know the auction it was sold in did not do their usual guarantee & everything was sold without right of return with very low reserves. That & the fact it’s for sale again so quickly is the worry.

Here’s the description: Third Reich SA Gruppe Hochland Kepi, winter pattern brown wool kepi with sky blue centre and later Political type eagle and single button. To the side is a edelweiss emblem. Blue over white twist cord piping to the crown. Interior with tan leather sweatband and blue cloth lining. Makers diamond with machine embroidered makers details. Under the sweatband is RZM label.

In my view it is not original to the TR period. The interior lining and sweatband give it away. Just my two cents!

I am no specialist for these nor am I particularly interested in them - but I would still like to know whether this is a copy. I tried to find out about the Huber of Rosenheim firm, found nothing. Must have been a sports-outfitter due to the ski-"H". The overall look of the cap is very new - I wonder if an item at least 75 years old can look so new. Hope for the specialists to chime in.
There is one in similiar mint condition: Kepi SA original?
and here is another Hochland Kepi to compare to (post # 10):

It is a high-end (for the era) fake.
Sold in the C & T Auction, now being sold on dealer sites everywhere as originals.
