    Question SS Artillery cap

I'd like to ask authentification about the cap on itself. I know the strap is a added reproduction. Is this a early cap or am I wrong on this.

I am convinced you are right, this is an early cap - which makes it quite impossible that it is a WSS cap with Waffenfarbe. I was thinking of an early/transitional RFV/Feuerschutzpolizei cap, but they don't quite match. Looking forward to hearing from the specialists what this really is.

If the four seams around the crown are approx. the same length (hard to say with the cap "formed" like this, then I'd say its an Imperial era cap...

I vote Imperial Technical troops--they come in all shapes and sizes, and vary in the quality of material and construction.

    A bunch are shown here:

When you do so perhaps some holes of the original insings will turn up - if you don't mind please let us know whether there are some.

The Imperial cockades would have had thin pins, so they would be hard to see from the outside.
If the interior pasteboard has not been replaced, they should be apparent there.
