If this one was real it would have to have spent the past 76 years in a time capsule (but for the eagle). Looks brand new - particularly the leather sweatband/lining. I wonder if this is possible. Looking forward to the specialists' opinion.

Its so hard to judge items that don't exhibit any age or wear, but other than the sloppy application of the skull, all of the materials and construction look right...

The interior seems very fresh indeed, would certainly bother me.

I've had Heer and even Imperial German caps that survived in this condition, so, it's certainly possible...

Just happened to see this now: triple serial numbers on the sweatband. Check this out here on the forum, usually a dead sure sign for a post-war cap.

Yes, it would be a postwar construct--they did a good job on this one.
