Two German Wool Side hats

Hello everyone,

I saw these two piece at an antique store near me and ended up picking them up. I am unsure on the authenticity of each of the items or even what unit they belong too. This is my first German Third Reich soft cover purchase. One looks to have a Wehrmacht patch on the top and the black one is some sort of bullion patch. Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Nothing seems to match up as authentic as I look through the forums. I am guessing reproduction. I picked them up for 20bucks, as a curious buy.

Thank you for you insight!! Haha I figured it was off as I first started looking and delving deeper into the vastness of this forum…what I have learned outside of these two hats is that reproductions are very sophisticated and ample…the ones I picked up are terrible renditions of this.

I guess we all start somewhere. Lol

For 20 bucks you didn't get burned too bad.

I think that skull is worth the 20 bucks for worst repro I have seen. Made me laugh.

First of all, I really like the Totenkopf - the pretzel-shaped eye-sockets-nose-combination and the monkeylike appearance! Made me smile for a while.
Then, the second cap (the one with the press-studs) is a BW Schiffchen (I can't really see the colour, originally it was a mixture of brown/green/beige), see here (post # 3):

The first one seems to be pure phantasy product.
