If I recall correctly, the green visor underside isn't a good sign. However, wait until someone in the know about peaked caps comes along. It is likely I am mistaken.
-
Well the insignia looks fake, and much better photos would help.
And I agree with the above statement, green underside is a bad sign.
-
This cap displays silvery Gespinstlitzen-piping which would make it a general's cap - and thus more unlikely to be an original than if it was an officer's cap.
Waiting for better pictures and the opinion of the remaining specialists - if this was real it would be quite sensational.
Im not sure but I do think I remember this cap with the hole above the eagle - perhaps someone could check in the questionable cap thread?
-
Got more pics today. I will post them when I get home.

Not one I would mess with. The absence of a sweat diamond, makers label and RZM tag would be too much for me. Add that to the green on the visor as well. I may be wrong, but I would pass.

Thanks for the thoughts so far guys. Donated for the help and since this forum is always an invaluable resource for me. If anyone has any other thoughts, please let me know

Hi klashownz,
now that you are a paying member, go to the questionable visor thread and to the original visor thread and have a look at the WSS-generals' caps there and compare.
There were caps with peaks the underneath of which are green, see here e.g. (post # 30): Infanterie officer visor cap - Peküro for opinions
If the cap is an authentic period piece it is more likely that it was a Bahnpolizei officer's cap - you could check for imprints of the badges of these on the cap (they looked like this: Bahnpolizei Officer's Visor Cap )
and are also to be found in the two threads m. a. for you to compare.

ErWeSa, the cap in question has no evidence of that insignia.
I am in a tough spot on this one considering if it is authentic, and an SS generals visor, I think it has a great price. The rest of the collection looks legit (wound badges, EK1, KvK1, etc). The pawn shop it's at usually has nothing like this and I do not think they have any idea of it's value if it is authentic. I wish there was some way to really know...but I know that's too much to ask. lol.
Edit: you can see in some of the pics, they sell mostly common toys (like Funko Pops) and old video games, haha
