What did I just buy? Unknown Side Cap, please help me to ID it.

Hello Gentlemen!

I just bought this old side cap from german eBay, because it looked old and interesting and it was priced very low.

The shape looks like that of a pilotka but the quality looks more german than russian.

It has a Black piping and two gold buillon stripes on the front.

It would be great if someone could help me to determine where it came from.

The pictures are from the auction, because I dont have it in hand now.

It is an Ordonnanz 1926/1940, see here for an example: Just a moment... (I hope you didn't pay more than 29 CHF!)

With your lead in the right Direction I have found it !
It appears to be a Swiss Police Side Cap Ord. 1917/26. A Swiss seller wants 80 bucks plus shipping in a complete condition.
I've just paid 20 Euro for it, in my oppinion its okay.
