Australian Scottish Regiment Beret

Hello all,

Just stumbled upon this poor old cap: It’s been a victim of many a hungry bug…

I believe it is Australian made but can’t be sure. Cap has many characteristics of one made here (circa 1940’s to ‘70’s). No markings that I can see. The insignia badge has been attached for a long time.

Appreciate any thoughts on the piece. Will do my best to preserve it.

is it a balmoral bonnet rather than a beret? What features make you think it is aussie made?

Hi Jerry, thanks for the comment and info.
I thought I was onto something with regards to the liner stitching last night; I do not think it can be ID'd without relevant markings. These were made in several countries.
