I was wondering if this is a original early RAF cap.
Its unmarked (no broad arrow or date)
Am i wrong? Is this a replica?
Regards
Fabio

The caps fine. The O/R RAF side caps were made of serge same as the uniforms. Most seem to be made by A J Gelfer in glasgow. Does it have any traces of yellow ink on the inside crown? Shaun.
I don't know.
I got interested on this item from a UK dealer.
He told me that its not marked inside,
as showed on previous topics on this forum.
looks fine, especially with the couple of moth nips. Whilst fakes/repros have been made, they are normally fairly obvious and originals are plentiful enough not to need to buy a fake one unless you reenact and need a big size. Most of the original ones tend to be on the small side.
I have found that the markings wear away very quickly and leave almost no trace. If you hold the hat at different angles you will probably see some faint trace of markings.
Hi Fabio, it looks fine to me.
Cheers, Ade.
I also have one of these from a Battle Of Britain Vet
I would love to see it. Sounds great.
Cheers, Ade.
Ive had a few of these and this one is 100%. There are no repros yet that are anywhere good enough to look like the real thing.
