Article about: Attached a picture of my wife's uncle. He was a wireless operator on a Halifax bomber during WWII. I was wondering what the White band on the cap means?

    the white FS Cap flash was worn by airmen/soldiers selected to undertake flight training.

    Yes, it was a cadet flash but in many training areas the army soldiers liked to spread the rumour that it meant that airman had venereal disease - pilots were more desired by the ladies at times so this was an attempt to level the playing field by the non air force types.
