Looks to be good late WWII or early post war officers SD cap, certainly pre 53 by the buttons and badge. Can you tell if it is an OSD badge on blades?

    Hi

    I paid £50 for it.
Is this about the going rate?
Also what do you mean by an OSD badge on the blades?

    Please advise

    thanks

Hi Liam, the price is OK, I have seen them more expensive, maybe half as much again or more, though RA is usually not too pricey.

OSD = Officers Service Dress, blades are the type of fixing it has to attach the cap badge to the cap, Officers versions are usually in bronze and are attached by 2 or 3 thin metal blades, Other ranks badges are usually on sliders, or Lugs.

Hi Liam, I would agree, as per usual, with Jerry's observations.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi Jerry

The badge is an OSD badge and is fixed to the cap by 2 blades

    Thanks
