I got this in a second hand clothing shop.
Not my thing, but my research tells me its a US enlisted mens cap - am I right??
Is there any signifigance with the blue around the badge??
The hat is dated 1947.
Many thanks

Correct, US Enlisted mans summer weight cap. I have not seen the blue backing before around a cap badge. But I have seen the same around collar dogs, blue being for the Infantry.
Cheers, Ade.
I think the insignia is even later - Vietnam era.
A nice cap, and in great shape. You should have
no trouble finding a WWII badge for it.

Hi Steve, you are correct it is indeed an OFFICERS cap, I failed to look at the cap band, which being ribbed is officers quality. I agree with Walkwolf Steve, take the badge off and replace it with another correct one.
Cheers, Ade.
Thank you everyone for you replies very imformative, much appreciated
