i've never seen a black leather one.
Whoops I got the maker wrong it was made by Knox
Here's shot of the cap I traded
I will eventually get it back along with a officers one of the same maker but most likely at a cost
The first one is 1950's issue.

Two extras to show the workmanship, but as usual I get it wrong
i saw a early war pic of an us cavarly unit before the us went into war, the pic i do remember was taken 1939. the men were still wearing breeches and uniform belts and black ties. to match black ties the leather of the uniform was also black.
what kind of markings are in the back of the isignia
