Re: Allgemeine-SS Sonderanfertigung Visor
With regard to the quality of the caps Wim Saris was referring to the SS-Pricelist of 1936 that lists a higher quality option only for men and nco's. Previously all ranks were offered the option. After this date the official higher grade cap offered to officers in the price lists is the silk-topped cap. From 1936 onwards the rank and file still had a higher grade cap offered but it was referred to as an "Eigentumsmuetze", (personal or proprietary). In the last price list I know of, published by the clothing works in Dachau in 1942, the black cap was offered in one grade only.

Whatever price this nice item fetched, the spelling error disqualifies the seller from the sale of such objects.

The issue of "Allgemeine" is a pet peeve of mine, actually. That is, the issue of its proper spelling, actually.
When it comes to spelling errors, it's up there with Adolph Hitler and Sepp Deitrich, the commander of his Liebstandarte, isn't it...?
