    Hello everyone,

I am happy to show you my latest acquisition, this cavalry officer’s visor cap by George A. Hoffmann Berlin (aka berolina) This maker used several different “klasse” denominations, this one being marked as “meister-klasse”. Note the lack of stirndrückfrei system, otherwise common in this type. Also, the cap features berolina’s typical half fold over half sewn sweatband. It’s in worn condition, but still well preserved despite a few moth nips. So far this is my favorite cap!

And by the looks of it it’s fitting pretty well in the family...

Very nice, I particularly like the extraordinary oakleaf-wreath.

Very nice group! The tolerance of the different colored crowns was probably not that bad at the time.

    Thank you Leo!

That's something I noticed as well, some Heer caps are made of very different color fabric. Maybe these varied through the years or depending on the availability of materials. Whether there were specific regulations regarding this, I don't really know.

    Nothing to thank for.
    Such beauties deserve a compliment.

I suspect that there was an exact regulation but there were also exceptions due to quality and inventory.
