CW Transport visor

Hi Guys, I just got this nice Clemens Wagner Transport visor in this past week.This is my first piece of CW headgear and I wanted to share it with you guys, I hope there are more coming in my future purchases.All opinions welcome and thank you for looking .

High-quality wartime hat--most do not realize just how hard it is to find nice condition Transport visors, let alone a high-peaked CW.

Nice cap - if only I could read the name. It's a Rittm. (Rittmeister = Major) Hans ??? Would be great to find out more about the former wearer. Perhaps one of the script specialists could help out. A pity that HLP2008 is no longer here, together with some other real experts.

I tried to figure this name out on Sunday and I came up with Rittmeister Hans Wonnen. Yes I would like to learn more about him but I don't know where to start.

As I had mentioned in the other forum, Hans could have been a former cavalry officer or in a former cavalry unit that kept the tradition of using Rittmeister instead of Hauptmann. 24th Panzer-Division being one example.

Possible sources for research are anyone who has a copy of Ranglisten, NARA, or the professional researchers like Robert McDivitt, among others. If you put in a search on forums these options with more detail will come up, esp. the dedicated subforum on WAF.
