Closeups of assembly and materials used, plus any markings, but looking good at this range… nice, unusual shore-based label for Wilhelmshaven.

The only thing I can contribute here (Marine is not my forte): the sweatband has a second row of stichholes - either it had been sewn in in another cap or it has been resewn into this one (check on the outside whether ther seam is visible, i. e. if it was professionally done or not).

The band stiffener is not of the conventional celeon type, though this is not necessarily a killer.
In all other details, I think it stands a good chance.
However, I would wait to hear from Gordon (redcap) for a casting vote!
