M43 metal insignia question?

Please could anyone tell me if the M43 were issued with metal insignia, as i am not sure if they were issued with them,

Hello Phil,
Regulation Heer Einheitsfeldmützen were not issued with metal insignia. Neither for EM/NCO nor for Officers. This said, there are photographic evidences showing soldiers who applied a metal eagle over the Heer trapezoid. Some Officers did the same as well. But maybe were you asking about side insignia, like unit insignia...(same answer anyway)
