From these pictures I don't have a good feeling. - the cord: reverse twisted, - the sweatband (similar to Peküro-caps) seems to have been in a different cap (where it overlaps you can see the stitches which once held it the upper part together which now don't fit any longer as this cap seems to larger than the original one), the sweatband is Ersatzmaterial (you can see the back on the upturned edge) and the base isn't velvet. Pictures from behind the sweatband would help. The bill looks off, too. Can you read what is printed behind the sweatshield? I can only see faint letters.
All in all I'd guess a Frankenstein of some sort.Would be glad to be corrected by the specialists.
Gemeindepolizei/municipal police should have a dark-brown centerband, earlier Feuerschutzpolizei caps had black ones.
For police caps see here: Polizei Headgear

I agree with Wolfgang.
Not a Police visor--they have a mottled green body and this one is field gray. (as on this FSP Officer Visor by Erel).
Also, what color is the piping? (looks orange).
To me it looks like a fake SS visor that someone thought would be more convincing as Police.

“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
5 little details in the picture from behind the sweatband make it quite obvious for me: IMHO this is not an original cap. Perhaps stonemint will take another look, too.
I agree--I did not like it 4 years ago, still do not to this day.

I am trying to learn from this
Another fake Feuerschutzpolizei that just popped up recently:
