Rgds Peter.
THe edelweiss is the correct RAD form for Austria.
Very nice, not common to find these officers caps anymore.
great cap,how come the liner is missing?.
In my opinion:
The cap originally is an enlisted ranks cap, which did not have lining.
This cap originally had the black piping along the edge for the flap, as well as
upon the visor. This is being removed, so the cap could be upgraded for an
officer rank.
This is best visible at the inner where the aluminum piping from the visor and
flap is put through the feltlike cloth. This was done so now and then to safe money
and one did not need to buy a new cap.
One would not have seen it or hardly, when a proper sweatband was sewn into the
inner.
Thankyou Wilhelm for you comments.
I purchased it without a liner etc so I just assumed it was pulled out.
