Wow, I've never seen this in my life!
-
maybe a iron worker/blacksmith org.

I spent quite some time trying to find out what happened in 1934 which would refer to this badge - no chance. Neither with the two symbols sword and hammer. Neither HJ-Gaufeldzeichen nor Schwarze Front would fit and Wim knows everything about these, no doubt. So I fully agree with Stonemint - if Wim doesn't know, no one knows.

I really do not know what it is.
The "wearing"-photo shown must be rare. It is for me a true TR mystery!
But there are more of such mysteries......., but with a bit of luck one day
the mystery will be solved!

Just out of interest there is one for sale on "germanwarbooty.com" it is simply described as a 1934 NSDAP cap badge.
-
Could it possibly be the Berghoheitsverwaltung (Mine Administration)? I saw an example of their belt buckle that incorporated all the elements in the above badge. The belt buckle was adopted in 1936.

Miners did use the "Hammer und Schlägel" and not a hammer and sword.
The miners symbol is much older then the Third Reich. Anyway since 1850!!
I do own a manufacturer/seller's catalogue for miners dresses and insignia and the
symbol was also the manufacturers symbol. The catalogue is from the mid-1920's.
