    The cap is called a polizei m43 cap..
    Hope that this was the answer you were looking for!

    Thank you Lt Col, I initially thought M43 but thought they had to have 2 buttons (as per the image for my username)

    They came in both styles, one button are just as original as two. cheers Tony

    He's wearing the Bergmütze authorized in June 1936. During 1942 regulations ordered shape, piping and insignia to be modified.
    Single-button caps are mountain caps, not "M43" caps. Period documentation is unambiguous further to this point.
